Dr. Stephen Knoyer is a Doctor of Chiropractic and licensed to practice in the state of Maryland. He’s a 2012 graduate of New York Chiropractic College and was awarded the D.D. Palmer Memorial Award. This award is granted to a graduate who displayed characteristics best exemplifying those of a faculty member. He was accepted into the Veteran’s Administration Medical Center at Canandaigua, NY and the Veteran’s Administration Community Based Clinic Medical Center in Rochester, NY for his internship. These internships granted him the privilege to rotate with specialties including: orthopedics, podiatry, neurology, physical therapy, dermatology and primary care. This provided a unique understanding of multidisciplinary and patient centered care.
He believes in evidence-guided care, which helps him to apply the latest research clinically. Recently, he was invited to be a reviewer on a research board for the National Institutes of Health, making him the only chiropractor on the board. When not in the office he trains in the martial arts of Bando/Lethwei and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
On the weekends he heads out of doors to work in the recovery tent at local sporting events and races. He enjoys spending time camping, hiking, snowboarding, and snowshoeing.
Dr. Knoyer volunteers weekly as an EMT for Montgomery County and hopes to be invited into the paramedic program within the next year.
Graston (M1, M2), Motion Palpation Institute, Whole Foods Nutrition, EMT-B, CCSP candidate.
